Kinvara Area Visual Arts (KAVA)

Kinvara Area Visual Arts (KAVA) is delighted to announce the receipt of €8,900 in funding from Bord Iascaigh Mhara for the refurbishment of the Courthouse arts space. The greater part of this award will be spent on making the building more energy efficient, including insulating the attic and installing secondary glazing on the three  large windows. This will greatly reduce heat loss from this old building. The money will also fund the repainting of the building inside and out and the purchase of much needed folding chairs. Kinvara Plastic Free

Kinvara Plastic Free: have good news of a new initiative starting June 1st for Community Centre users. The Community Council have agreed unanimously to support Plastic-free Kinvara in their campaign to make the Community Centre a single-use plastic -free zone. We ask that you and your group support this initiative and find alternatives to single-use plastic for food or drinks, by bringing refillable bottles etc. and use the -soon to be filtered! – water from the kitchen tap. The Community Council and Directors are funding a filter for the tap water, to help ensure that this campaign is successful. We have found that young people, in particular, are concerned about environmental issues, and we believe they want change. This is part of a wider campaign around Kinvara. We hope we can depend on your full support.
