KINVARA Covid 19 Newsletter 23rd March 2020

The Kinvara Community Centre has been closed to help in the fight against the spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19), however the Community Council Office is still providing support to the Community and is contactable as follows:

Telephone:       083 152 8560 (Mon-Fri, 9am – 12 noon)

Email:              communitycentre@kinvara.ie

There has been a huge community response from businesses and local people offering support, help and assistance. Information about what local services and sources will be published in a regular Community Council newsletter and will be will be distributed by email and posted on notice boards in the town.

If you have a service or idea that you think may be of assistance to others, please email a brief outline to us on the above email and we will try to include it in the next newsletter.

Our focus must be on staying well and following all guidelines to remain safe. We are very lucky to have such a brilliant community in Kinvara. Together we can get through this by staying in contact and helping in whatever way we can.

Please share this newsletter with your neighbours and friends.  To join the Kinvara Community Centre mailing list (to automatically receive the next newsletter), please send the Community Centre office your email address.

Burren Yoga Centre & Mediation Centre

Burren Yoga Centre & Mediation Centre has yoga classes CDs which we are also available as MP3 files so that people can practice at home. It’s very important that we all look after our health and especially our mental well-being during these challenging times. These MP3 classes help our own yoga students practice at home while there are no yoga classes available. More details at www.burrenyoga.com/special-hire/shop/ or ring 091-637 680.

Kinvara FM

Kinvara FM – If anyone wants to send me short audio greetings to me here or on WhatsApp/Viber etc. at 087 277 8146 I will put together a ‘Greetings from Kinvara’ show and I will let everyone know when it’s on. Also, if anyone wants to request a specific show we have in our archives we will endeavour to play it at the weekend.

Kinvara Tidy Towns

  • We in Kinvara Tidy Towns support the policy of social distancing till we are advised otherwise and so we are cancelling all Tidy Towns group activities till further notice. If you would like to get some fresh air and exercise by yourself we have taken the decision to leave our Tidy Towns shed unlocked for now. There are litter pickers and wheelie bins and some gloves and some garden tools in there. You are very welcome to do whatever activity you choose whether it is a litter pick around the town or the quay or some weeding/planting of any of the flower beds around the Community Centre or the school or elsewhere.

Please leave the shed tidy and if you can take the litter home that’s great or if not leave in the bin and we will try to sort it. Please leave all the tools/equipment back where you got it. Please close the door and fix with the bolt when you are leaving.
