Kinvara Rock & Run

The Rock and Road has announced a new early season marathon in addition to the existing 10k and half marathon races taking place, as always, on the first weekend in March, Saturday 3rd. The organisers are currently looking for additional marshaling staff to assist with the new marathon course, with financial contributions available to Clubs and organisations who participate (please contact Eoin on (087) 975 8056 or email at eoin@dolmensports.com for more information on this).

The marathon begins and ends on the same route as the scenic half marathon course, but extends further into the Burren landscape taking in the Kilmacduagh Monastery. This event is now in its 8th year and attracts 2000 runners from all over Ireland in no small part due to the huge welcome afforded to the competitors by the local community during the races themselves, at the pier for the finish and on into the evening in the village. This is a great early season goal or test run, particularly for another of the big races in the West – the Connemarathon in April.
