Festive magic abounds
The magic of Christmas will arrive in Kinvara next weekend with the return of one of Ireland’s most vibrant destination Christmas markets.
Featuring the finest local artisan products, food, live music and miniature theatre, the Kinvara Christmas Market will run across two weekends on 9-10 December and 16-17 December at the Kinvara Community Hall on Glebe Road, Kinvara, Co Galway.
The market will host forty stalls brimming with Christmas gift ideas including silver jewellery, natural soaps, free from skincare, homespun wool and Irish hand-made woollen products to porcelain homewares, artworks and illustrations, leather belts, scented candles, textiles, pottery and wood products.
Local children’s author Catherine Dunne will feature the latest in her children’s series, The Kinvara Reindeer who saved Christmas, based on the true story of the wooden reindeer that went missing from Kinvara in 2016 and was returned following a nationwide appeal.
Fresh food will be a key feature of the day with everything from burgers to Syrian cuisine on the menu, while local gourmet cheese, coffee, preserves, specialty tea, cookies and cakes will cater for that sweet and savoury tooth.
Visitors can also indulge in plenty of festive treats including mulled wine, mince pies, plum puddings and hand-made chocolates while shopping for Christmas decorations and festive flower arrangements.
Live music from local performers is this year coordinated by singer/songwriter Tony Trundle.
In a treat for the whole family, Mighty Tales Theatre Group will bring the nativity to life with miniature theatre in rhyming verse at 12 noon and 3pm each day of the market.
