The Kinvara Community Defibrillator Project (KCDP) provides AEDs (defibrillators), training and support for emergency cardiac care by First Responders.
Several lives have been saved by use of the KCDP AEDs in Kinvara and we encourage all members of the community to undertake AED/CPR training.
Courses are delivered in a single 3 hour session, are Irish Heart Foundation Heartsaver courses, certified for 2 years.
There is no obligation upon completion of the course (previous on-call phone system is no longer in place).
Courses are delivered by our own volunteer trainers.
Cost: €30 (covers cost of providing course materials etc)
Minimum age -16.

There are 8 publicly available AEDs in the Kinvara area, at the following locations:
- Northampton National School
- Kinvara United Soccer pitch (provided by Kinvara United)
- Pier Head
- Community Centre (provided by Seamount College)
- St Josephs National School
- The GAA pitch (provided by GAA club)
- Fahys, Nogra
- Doorus National School
The defibrillator committee inspect and maintain these AEDs, using funds generated from the community and we thank you for your continued support.
