Kinvara Community Council’s: monthly meetings take place the third Wednesday of each month. The next meeting is taking place on Wednesday 16th October at 8pm in Kinvara Community Centre. This will be followed by our monthly meeting. We encourage all members of the community to attend these meetings. All sub groups who are affiliated to Kinvara Community Council must send a representative to every KCC meeting in order to maintain their benefits. Any items for inclusion on the agenda must be emailed in before Friday 11th October.
Kinvara Area Visual Arts (KAVA)
Kinvara Area Visual Arts (KAVA) are delighted to welcome the painter Bernard Dooley to The Courthouse this October with his exhibition ‘Focus on Galway’. Bernard is well known for his moving and colourful depictions of Galway street life, its native inhabitants, visitors, homeless people and buskers. Bernard’s work has featured in The Galway Fringe, The Boyle Arts Festival, Birr Vintage Arts Week, Shorelines Arts Festival in Portumna as well as in two solo exhibitions in Galway City Library. The opening reception will take place on Friday October 4th, 7pm with guest speaker Chris Wallis. The exhibition will continue until Friday 11th October, open from 11am to 5pm each day.
October 18th sees the launch of ‘Mixed Bag’, a solo exhibition of paintings by Birgit Lochmann. Birgit’s images are drawn from her observations of life and from scenes encountered when travelling. ‘Mixed Bag’ will run from Thursday 17th October to Monday 28th October, 11am to 5pm each day. Official opening with wine reception on Friday October 18th, 6pm to 7.30 pm. All welcome
Kinvara Area Music (KAM) AGM
Kinvara Area Music (KAM) will hold their Annual General Meeting this coming Wednesday 2nd in Tully’s side room at 8.30pm. Come along and get involved. Date for you diary – we will be holding our popular Table Quiz in Keogh’s Bar, Friday 25th starting at 8.30pm. €10 per persons, tables of 4 and prizes galore!!!
Kinvara Adventure Talks
Kinvara Adventure Talks. A few dates for your diary! Kinvara Adventure Talks are happening again on each Thursday in November. Once again we are all going to be treated to unique stories of adventure and journeying around the globe. On the 7th, 14th, 21st & 28th Nov in Tully’s Bar side room, talks will include climbing Denali; paramotoring solo across places like Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan; rowing the length of the Shannon; and working & training sled-dogs in the Arctic; We will also have a ‘warm-up’ talk on cycling solo from Alaska to San Francisco on Oct 24th. Kinvara Parent & Toddler Group: are a group of local parents who meet each Wednesday mornings in the community centre from 10 – 12noon during school term time. WE are a fun relaxed group and offer each other support/toys/friends/tea and chat. Ages are New-borns to pre-school and a donation of €2/3 per family. Pop in any time.

Irish Road Safety Week 2019 is taking place Monday 7th – 13th October with lots of road safety activities planned nationwide.. Gardaí will be out policing and prosecuting defective vehicles for no NCT, Faulty lights and illegal tyres – so time to get your vehicle checked!
