‘Childhood’, an exhibition of paintings & textiles by Brian Twomey and Diane Reid opens on Friday 7th September at 8pm at KAVA, The Courthouse, Kinvara, Co. Galway. Diane Reid’s textile works feature detailed embroidery on backgrounds of handmade woollen felt and screen-printed fabrics. Her use of repetitive hand stitching and appliqué is reminiscent of tribal art. Brian Twomey uses photos of his children and their drawings to create homages to the magical world of children’s creativity that is spontaneous and uninhibited. ‘Childhood’ runs until Sept 16, open 11 am to 5 pm daily.
