Kinvara Adventure Talks are here again, happening every Thursday in November in Tully’s side room. Doors open at 830pm, talks begin at 9pm. More high calibre talks for everyone to enjoy, see info below:
* November 7th: This summer six climbers from Ireland attempted the West Buttress on Denali, the highest mountain peak in North America at 20,310 feet (6,190 m). One of the successful summiteers, Lorcan McDonnell will tell the expedition story, bringing us through the challenges and experiences.
* November 14th: Joe McCaul, a resident of Kinvara, rowed a boat which he built, the entire length of the Shannon. Joe rowed through varying conditions of wind, rain and sunshine, from Beleek in Co. Fermanagh, finishing up 350km later in Limerick City.
* November 21st: Humphrey Murphy is going to share his experience of paramotoring, which involves stepping up into the sky with a paragliding type wing and a propeller on his back, across Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenestan, Mongoliastan and Ukraineistan.
* November 28th: Ian Walsh worked as a dog handler above the Arctic Circle in Norway, preparing dogs for the Finmarkslopet which is Europe’s biggest and toughest Dog Sled Race, where dogs pull sled and man for hundreds of miles.
