‘Sive’ by John B Keane

Clann Machua Drama Group, Kiltimagh  return to Kinvara on Saturday March 28th to stage John B Keane’s much-loved classic play, Sive. Set in 1950’s rural Ireland, it tells the story of a young illegitimate schoolgirl named Sive, who lives with her uncle, his wife and her grandmother, Nanna.  Local matchmaker Thomasheen Seán Rua convinces her guardians to marry off Sive to an old farmer called Seán Dota for a large sum of money, a course of action that has terrible consequences.
This is a dark tale, full of passion, humour and wit that will grip you from the start – definitely a play not to be missed.  Tickets: €10*. Available from Be Yourself Boutique and Eventbrite (Online admin fee applies). Early booking advised.
