Press Release: Eyes on Gaza

Artists from KAVA and beyond will be generously represented in the upcoming Art Exhibition taking place in Oranmore on the weekend 07-09 June inclusive. The venue is the Limelight Creative Arts Centre which is situated over Lidl. “Eyes on Gaza” will feature artists from all over the country including Palestinian artists in Ireland. There will be a wide range of paintings, sculptures, glass and ceramics from artists well known and those making a first showing, something of beauty for everyone to buy.

All the proceeds go to raising funds for a mental health Trauma Centre in Gaza. With the ongoing catastrophe, the needs of the residents of Gaza increased in every facet of life, mental health being no exception. In addition, there will be books to browse, traditional tatreez to view and learn the secrets of the various patterns, views of glass blowing in Hebron and olive oil soap making in Nablus. The event will end on Sunday evening with traditional Irish and Palestinian music and dance.

The Exhibition will be formally launched at 4pm on Friday by the Palestinian Ambassador, Dr. Jilan Abdelmajid.
