Kinvara Parent and Toddler Group welcomes parents and guardians to our weekly playgroup; Wednesdays 10am-12pm in the meeting room of Kinvara Community Centre. Children under 6 are welcome to socialise in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. We have plenty of toys and play tents for little ones and we offer tea/coffee and biscuits for grown-ups. We ask for a donation of €3-€4 per family to cover running costs and special events. Kinvara Twinning: is organising a trip to Locoal-Mendon in Brittany this May and we’re inviting members of the local community to join us.Details:- Fly from Dublin to Nantes, Friday, May 9th (Depart 13:30)- Spend 3 nights in Locoal-Mendon, hosted by a Breton family- Enjoy various cultural activities and sight-seeing trips- Return Nantes to Dublin, Monday, May 12th (Arrive 17:25)This is a fantastic opportunity to experience Breton culture first hand as you get to stay with a host family from Locoal-Mendon yet there are lots of opportunities to meet up with the wider group – communal evening meals, day-trips to local attractions and music sessions at night! Family groups, couples, solo travellers welcome – No unaccompanied minors. Speaking French is not a requirement as many of the Breton families have a high level of English and we can match you accordingly.Aer Lingus Return flight currently under €150. Friday Free … Cup of Tea (or Coffee 😊) on Valentine’s Day! On Friday, February 14th, between 9am and noon, why not meet a friend, or make a new friend, in a local café for a cuppa and a chat? Your beverage of choice (tea, coffee, or hot chocolate) will be paid for by Kinvara Alive. We extend thanks to Kinvara’s wonderful cafés for offering to take part in this initiative. (Please note that offer applies to sit-in drinks, rather than take-out).

20 years of Scouting in Kinvara! This year, Kinvara Scout Group are celebrating 20 years of scouting that has seen a huge number of boys and girls in the area join as Beavers at the age of six, moving up through Cubs, Scouts, Ventures and some are still scouting as Rovers in their adult lives.
Throughout those years we have climbed mountains, potholed caves, built rafts, surfed & kayaked, cooked thousands of sausages, sang campfires songs, slept in hammocks, and camped with other Scouts in Ireland and abroad, and lots more!
Scouting is an amazing inclusive youth organisation supported by adult volunteers, with the aim of encouraging the physical, intellectual, character, emotional and social development of young people through outdoor adventure.
