Kinvara Community Council will hold their next meeting on Wednesday 16th January 2019 at 8pm in the Community Centre. We encourage all members of the community to come to this meeting. All sub groups who are affiliated to Kinvara Community Council must send a representative to every KCC meeting in order to maintain their benefits. Any items for discussion must be emailed in advance to be included on the agenda.
The Kinvara Christmas Market
The Kinvara Christmas Market is just around the corner kicking off the festive season with a wonderland of local, hand-made gifts and delicious Christmas fare across two weekends on 8-9 and 15-16 December at the Kinvara Community Hall on Glebe Road. Nearly forty stalls will feature gift ideas including festive hampers,free from skincare and soaps, homespun wool and Irish hand-made woolen products, silver jewellery, pottery, laser cut wood, leather belts, scented candles, baby blankets and crochet toys. Market goers can refuel with fish and chips, crepes, vegan food, mince pies and hot spiced apple juice from locally grown and pressed apples all while enjoying live music. The 2018 KAVA Christmas Art Sale
The 2018 KAVA Christmas Art Sale will be launched on 6th December at 8pm at The Courthouse Kinvara and will be open to the public for two weekends 7-9 December and 14-16 December from 11am to 5pm. All the art-works created by KAVA artists will be postcard sized (A5) and will be on sale anonymously at the knock-down price of €30! The identity of the artist will only be revealed after the purchase has been made. 10% of sales to be donated to Crumlin Children’s Hospital.
Santa at The Courthouse
Santa at The Courthouse: On Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th, from 2pm to 5pm, children of all ages are invited to come along and have their picture taken with Santa. There will also be hot chocolate and mulled wine, games, make your own ornament and reindeer food craft table. Each child will also receive a small goodie bag from Santa. Suggested donation of €10 per family. All proceeds will be going to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin. In association with Kinvara Men’s Shed. We hope you will join us for this fun and magical occasion!

Christmas Day Swim
Christmas Day Swim: The attendance at the Christmas Day Swim gets bigger every year. It is organised by Kinvara Swimming and Lifesaving clubs in aid of Galway Hospice. Although numbers are huge, less than €2,000 was collected in each of the last three years. Some years ago over €6,000 was contributed by swimmers and sponsors for this most worthy cause. The swim will take place at 1.00pm on Christmas Day. Come along and exchange greetings, enjoy the swim and the camaraderie and support the Galway Hospice.
